Honor Your Experience

Cells have an ability to hold our experience until we are ready to process it.  We now understand that those with traumatic life experience can have PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).  Often those who suffer PTSD had traumatic experiences that their body stored for them (kind of like a computer hard drive) but now another layer of information is stored and the system goes into overload.  Thank goodness we have FES’s Post Traumatic Stabilizer.  I have seen this be of such deep support on numerous occasions.

How to avoid getting into overwhelm?  Honor each experience as it comes.  Some of these experiences are good, but still so big that our system has trouble processing it all at once.  Also we can have experiences that we don’t understand so we just stuff them.

When I was in junior high I had a big spiritual experience.  I knew it was life changing, but didn’t think much about it.  As an adult as I tried to process it I had numerous people doubt my experience and so I doubted it myself.  It’s taken quite a few years, but finally I honor that YES, this experience happened and I don’t have to put it in a box, or explain it to anyone (including myself).  I can just honor that occurred and it was big for me.

Meditation techniques can be a great support for honoring experiences.  With the help of 35 years of meditation experience, today I am mostly able to witness my felt sense, both in my physical body and in my energetic body.  I have learned that trying to make mental sense of it often just buts roadblocks in my way.   Learning to trust that this is your experience brings much more grace and ease into your life.  Desert Alchemy’s Owning the Level can be helpful in trusting the level your on and owning it.   I wish this for all of us.

Remembering to Breathe…flowers are our allies

How many times in a day do you notice your breathing is shallow? Or that you are holding your breath?  Do you wish that your breathing was more easeful and peaceful?

Bougainvillea flower essence  (made by Desert Alchemy) has a tremendous capacity to assist us in breathing and finding our inner peace and stillness, even if chaos still surrounds us.  This can be very helpful in our fast paced world or if we find ourselves holding our breath while watching the news.

As a long time yoga teacher I am noticing that my breathing is often shallow or disturbed during this time in our country and I find this among my students.  Bougainvillea is such a strong support to help us deepen our breath, with effortless effort.

The actual flower of this plant is the cluster of 3 tiny white flowers surrounded by the bracts of bright colors!bougainvillea

Clients of all ages have reported that including bougainvillea in their custom essence combination allowed them to avoid altitude sickness when travelling to a much higher elevation than they normally are accustomed.  What a great travelling companion!

Empath’s Energy Bubble Meditation

(adapted from a mediation taught by Suzanna Kennedy)

*Tune into your heart center and breath in and out of this heart center

*Tune into your unseen compassionate allies (whatever facet of Source that is easiest for you to connect to: power animals, power plants, angels, devas, guides, teachers, angels, etc).  The more you work with these allies the faster the connection happens.

*Ask them to place a silver tray in front of you and then go into your own body and find energies that do not belong to you.

*Place a bubble (like a soap bubble or whatever works for you…trust that there is a part of you who knows how to do this) around each energy and then pull it out and place on the silver tray.

*Once you have a good amount of bubbles (10-20) ask your unseen compassionate allies to please fill them with highest possible vibration (golden light, Divine Love, Divine Compassion, etc…trust they will know what is best).

*Once you sense they are filled, then ask the bubbles to return to the source from which they came (the real person they belong to).

*Then ask your allies to please fill your empty spaces with Divine Love or something even better.

Centered While Waiting

Parenting, it’s not all smiles and warm fuzzies. There is a lot of that, BUT a lot of parenting is trying to stay centered and embodied enough to know HOW and WHEN to respond to your little person’s life and decisions.  It’s easy to get off center and so its important to get to know what works for YOU to get back on center. Just like in meditation it is a process of being aware when you are off center and then knowing how to find center again.

In the case of birth we have a 5 week window from 37 weeks (early term labor) to 40 weeks (term labor) to 42 weeks (late term labor) in which we can expect the child to decide it is time to be born.  All we can really do is keep ourselves healthy, remember to breathe, take care of ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally while we wait to RESPOND to their actions.

This is great preparation for the rest of our parenting lives.  Once they are out we can SUPPORT them, but we can’t really make them do much…burping, farting, pooping, none of this happens on cue.  As they get older it becomes sometimes even more challenging to let them do their thing and then know how to support them in their process and stay centered in OUR OWN PROCESS.  Our children come as blank slates, but with a lot to teach us.  If we can stay centered then we can LEARN from them and SHARE in their joys and sorrows.
